All boring bars are made of tempered alloy steel for proper boring rigidity.Cutting inserts can be indexed or replaced without loss of hole size or depth when cutting edge is dull. Chip breaker breaks chips into small rolls, thus eliminating winding of long stringy chips around tool and clogging work. Clearance behind cutting tool edge eliminates chip interference between boring tool and side of tool. Flat sides on bar for square lathe turrets or in round holes provide 3-point suspension for utmost rigidity.
