WD1 is a nano-coating developed for carbide drills and is harder and can be run at higher speeds versus TiAlN. It is used for applications in iron, steel, stainless steel and alloy steel. WD1 is a proprietary coating exclusive to OSG Tap and Die, Inc.
Spiral flutes are constructed with a higher flute angle to remove chips more easily.
